This week, I spent my time working on the new word clock design in CAD. I was going off of the ideas that Mr. L suggested to Jaspreet and I last week. It was a little difficult because I kept getting confused on the design. On Monday, I wasn't able to get anything done because I was sick at home.

On Tuesday, when I went to work on the design that I had started last week, Jaspreet told me that Mr. L changed up the design a little bit, so we wouldn't be making tabs anymore to connect the pieces. Instead, he proposed that we could just do straight edges and connect them using a type of bracket that we would design and 3D print, at each corner that would connect the sides to the front piece. That being said, I just scrapped my entire design from last week and had to start over. Mr. L showed me a small, quick sketch of what he was envisioning with the brackets.
On Wednesday, I started to design the box with the brackets. Unfortunately, I misunderstood Mr. L's drawing of the brackets and I got confused by which side of the front piece we were making thinner. So, I made the whole design with the brackets on the outside and cut into the front piece from the back. This was not right. I was supposed to put the brackets on the inside and cut into the front piece from the front. Since I had already finished the design that way, I just made a new file and started over.

I got most of the correct design done on Wednesday, but I just had a few more things to add on Thursday. Now, all I have left to do is get the original design of Grace's from Mr. Christy so that I have the holes for the letter blocks. After I get those holes into the design, I can proceed and make the holes that we need in order to screw the LEDs into the board because as of right now, they are being stuck to the wooden board using double-sided tape. Which isn't very efficient. Also, we need to figure out what o do with the back and how we're going to hang it up. But that's for next week.
