This week, I continued working on my layered art box. On Monday, I finished up the design for the box in CAD. I did most of the design last week, so there wasn't much left. I messed up some of the measurements because of how I did the parameters, so it took me a little while to fix it. The way I made the box, made it so there will be seven layers of paper separated by 1/8" L-shaped legs in each or the four corners.

On Monday after I finished the box, I moved onto designing each layer of paper to create the little landscape. I got about two or three of the layers done on Monday. On Tuesday, I finished up the design of the paper layers. I'm not sure how good everything will look when I cut it out on paper, so I might have to change it in the future. I thought it looked kind of empty at first, so I designed the bush to have multiple layers and added a rabbit.

On Wednesday, I soldered an LED strip and coded it. The way I want the LEDs to look is so that when it's wrapped around the inside of the box, there's different colors for different elements of the paper layers. So, the LEDs that are on the bottom of the box will be green to match the grass, some of the LEDs around the sky will be blue and the LEDs in the top left corner will be yellow to match the cutout of the Sun. On Wednesday, I also got all of the Inkscpae files ready for all of the parts so that I could lasercut them on Thursday.

On Thursday, I cut out all the paper layers, legs, and did a test cut of the box pieces in cardboard. I also added an outline of a raccoon in one of the layers so that the rabbit wouldn't be lonely. There are roughly 60 wooden, L-shaped legs that are used to separate each layer of paper and create space inside the box for the LED strip.
