5/27 - 5/30

This week, I started a new project since I finished the four drawer organizer last week. The project I've started is another layered art box. The reason I wanted to make another one is because I really liked the one that I gave my sister for her birthday, so I decided to make a different one for myself. This time, I think I'm going to do a little bit more code for it and make the LEDs a bit more exciting with multiple different colors, instead of just one color throughout the whole thing.

We didn't have school on Monday, so I got started on the project on Tuesday. I started by sketching out the design in my notebook. The method is the same a the one I made for my sister, as in the box is made the same way and it has the L-shaped legs separating each layer of paper. However, the box is going to be made in a landscape layout. I also started creating the design in CAD after sketching it in my notebook.

On Wednesday, I had pretty much finished the design in CAD by the end of fourth period, when I realized what the size was going to look like in person. I originally had the parameters set as a length of five inches, a height of three inches, and a width of three inches. I realized how small that was actually going to be, so I changed the parameters to be a length of 7 inches, a height of 5 inches, and a width of 2.5 inches, because it doesn't need to be very wide. I was almost finished with the design with the new measurements before the day ended.

On Thursday, Mr. L asked Kim and I to take inventory of some things around the shop. We spent all of Thursday organizing and taking inventory. He had us start with the resin printer equipment, then the filament for the 3D, then the wooden slabs in the machine shop, then the sandpaper and trash bags in the machine shop closet, and finally the flammable closet in the machine shop. There's still a lot more that we didn't get to, but we made a lot of progress.
