On Monday, I started by checking to see if the letter blocks fit into the test cut of the frame I made out of cardboard last week. My measurements were slightly off. I'm not sure how because I remember inserting the original letter block CAD design and using it to project the holes onto the new word clock design when I was making it. But since it was slightly off, I had to change the measurements in CAD a little bit to fix it. I was also able to cut the large coaster out of wood. I tried to cut out the smaller coaster as well, but the lasercutter didn't cut through the wood completely, so the edge was messed up. The day ended before I was able to re-cut it.

On Tuesday, I re-cut the smaller coaster. I was then able to sand down both of the and get started on adding the wood finisher to each of them. I was able to get the first layer done. I also tried to re-cut the frame piece of the word clock in cardboard right before the day ended. I realized as it was cutting it, that when I changed the CAD design, I forgot to change the inkscape file as well. Basically, I ended up cutting the same thing twice.

On Wednesday, I continued with the wood finisher layers. I got the three layers done on the top and the sides and got one layer added on the bottom. I also was able to fix the inkscape file for the word clock frame. I didn't get to cut it out though, because I ran out of time.

On Thursday, I finished adding all of the layers of wood finisher on the coasters. I also cut out the word clock frame using the revised Inkscape file. I tested it out by screwing in one of the letter blocks, and thankfully it fit this time. I just have to cut out the top piece and then I'll be able to fully assemble a test version of the new word clock design I've been working on.
