This week I started working on a project with two of my classmates, Kim and Jaspreet. The project we're working on is a giant word clock that was left behind by a former student that graduated. Mr. Christy told us about this project and asked us if we were interested in making it. . The initial design was already created by the student, but we've decided we'd like to change a few things about the design. This week, we've been playing around with the letter blocks, switching up the materials to find what looks best when the LEDs are turned on.

These are two of the options we came up with. The one on the left has a wooden letter with veneer over it. The one on the right has a white acrylic letter spray painted black.

This is a comparison of the black acrylic letter on the right, and a white acrylic letter on the left.

The three of us all liked the black acrylic the best, so that's what we're going to go with for the design of the letter boxes. This is what it looks like when the LEDs are off. You can't see the outline of the letter at all, unlike the other ones we tried.

This is what the black acrylic letter looks like on. The thing we liked about this one was that the color was a lot brighter and distributed more evenly throughout the letter cutout.
