11/18 - 11/22

I spent the first half of my week working with Kim on the word clock. I helped her lasercut some of the letters in the acrylic that we spray painted last week. We only got to lasercut a number of letters before we ran out of acrylic. I was also helping her with laser cutting wood and clear acrylic for the letter boxes. While we were cutting we also realized we were going to need more clear acrylic along with black acrylic and screws.

I spent the other half of my week coming up with a gift for my sister for her birthday on Friday. I decided to do a LED box that has the front open and layer of paper art going back. I first drew out the design I had in mind on paper, then designed it in CAD. After I realized I was not going to finish the whole thing by Friday, I decided I should make something simpler so that I actually have something to give her. It will be a 2.5 x 2.5 box with engravings on each side of the box. I designed the box in CAD and started creating the Inkscape files for lasercutting it.
