11/12 - 11/15

This week, Kim, Jaspreet and I are still in the planning phase of the project right now. One of the things we worked on this week, was planning out the word clock on a piece of paper. Another one of our classmates has already done a smaller word clock as one of his projects, but it's still the same concept. We didn't want it to be the exact same as his, so we spent a lot of time trying to figure out what words we wanted to use and where to put them.

We tried out four different ways of organizing the words, and this was pretty much the only one that worked. It was also the one we liked the most.

This week, we also started planning how it is going to mount onto the wall and how to create a back for it. It looks like we're going to have to go with no walls and standoffs to connect the board to a piece behind it, basically making an offset back.

Me and Kim also started spray painting the white acrylic black. We wanted to spray paint all of the acrylic at once before lasercutting the letters out, so that we don't have to spray paint the letters individually afterwards. We finished two coats on one side, and will finish the two coats on the other side on Friday.
