This week, Kim, Jaspreet, and I got a lot done for the word clock. On Monday, we didn't really have enough time to finish with the holes on the word clock, so we started taking out the letter blocks from the old design instead.

On Tuesday, we were able to get all of the holes cut out for the frame and the sides. It took a really long time, so I was in the machine shop all day because I had to watch the CNC mill cut out every single hole. For some of the holes on the sides/top, we didn't have the part that holds the end mill in the size that we needed, so Mr. L suggested to just cut them out using the 1/8" end mill that was already in the machine, and then we would hand drill the holes with the right size the next day, since we ran out of time.

On Wednesday, Kim, Jaspreet, and I were working on getting all of the parts out of the machine, hand drill the holes we needed to make bigger, and Jaspreet and Kim sanded down all of the parts. After we sanded all of the parts, we moved them out into the regular shop and then took the extra wood off of the CNC Mill and vacuumed it.

On Thursday, Jaspreet and I were trying to screw in all of the corner brackets to connect the parts. Some of the sides were being very stubborn, and the wood is a little warped, so we might need some additional, smaller, metal brackets around the clock as extra support. We were able to get all of the parts connected, except for the backplate. Once we finish transferring all of the LEDs and letter blocks to the new frame, we will be ready to attach the backplate and find somewhere to hang up the final word clock.
