This week, I took a small break from my brush holder to make a birthday gift for my friend. The idea for her gift is a sort of sign that has engravings on it. I spent a couple days designing it in CAD. I designed it so that it would be able to stand on it's own on her desk or wherever she wants to put it.

The front piece of wood is engraved with an image of one of her favorite singers and some of her songs. After I finished designing the gift in CAD, I lasercut a test of the parts in cardboard and assembled that. Once I knew that it would work how I wanted it to, I went ahead and lasercut the parts in wood. After that, I sanded the parts and glued them all together. Now, I'm just going to add final touches and write some notes for her.
