This week, I worked on both the power supply/PCB mount and the coasters. On Monday, I was waiting for my turn to use the 3D printer, so I decided to finish cutting out all of the coasters in wood and sand them to get them ready for the wood finisher. I wasn't able to print the power supply/PCB mount because it was being used and we also had less time in shop because we had gym.

On Tuesday, we didn't have school because it was Election Day, so I just worked on things for college.

All five coasters cut out in wood and sanded down.

On Wednesday, it was my turn to use the 3D printer, so I got started on printing the power supply/PCB mount for the word clock. It didn't finish printing by the time we left school, so I just kept working on the coasters. I found a finisher in the cabinet in the machine shop, so I started brushing that onto the tops and sides of each coaster. I was able to apply two coats on the tops and sides of the coasters before the day ended. It took a little while because you have to wait for each layer to dry and then also sand them down a bit between layers.

On Thursday, I started off by checking on the power supply/PCB mount because it had finished printing while we were out of school. I tried attaching the power supply and PCB to it and thankfully my measurements were more accurate this time, and it worked. Now the next steps for the word clock are finishing the PCB and cutting out the frame.

After that, I continued with the coasters by adding the third and final layer to the tops and sides. Once that dried, I had just enough time to start putting the finisher on the bottoms of the coasters. I only got one layer on, but I intend to finish all of the layers and then take the coasters home on Friday.
